With the 2012 London Olympic Games now in full swing there are a plethora of apps for your iPad to ensure you never miss a moment of the excitement.

London 2012: Official Join In App For The Olympic and Paralympic Games
If you’re lucky enough to actually be in London for the Games, this should be the first app that you download. It includes maps and schedules for each event. For most of who aren’t attending, this app can still be helpful. It offers the official photo stream, along with the official Facebook, twitter and YouTube stream of the 2012 Games.
NBC Olympics and NBC Olympics Live Extra
While reviews are low because of inconsistent quality in video, these two NBC apps will let you live stream all events of the 2012 Games. Since its release a couple of weeks ago, the developers (Adobe) have released some performance enhancements, but it still feels buggy. If you want to watch on your iPad, you can also DVR the live stream.
London 2012 — Official Mobile Game
There will be plenty of downtime during the Olympic Games, which is good because there is a great game for the iPad. The official iPad game for the 2012 Games lets you train an athlete and compete in nine Olympic events, including the 100m 100m hurdles, 100m freestyle swim, double trap, triple jump, pole vault, 100m butterfly swim, kayaking and archery.
Reuters Olympic London 2012
This app will keep you updated on all of the news of the Olympic Games, but it will also give you the best free photography from all of the events. The app has a great UI and is free in the App store.
This is the BBC’s time to shine. Being that the Olympics are in London, the BBC went all out and created a great app that will provide live, streaming coverage to users in the U.K Up-to-date content is available to everyone that downloads it. Reuters is providing the U.S. equivalent in their app.
