New iPad App Can Ink Your Next Tattoo
Deciding how you’re going to ink up your arm has never been easier.
The days of hitting up your local tattoo parlors and shuffling through pages of designs is soon becoming a thing of the past. That’s because there’s a new app on the market to inspire all of your tattoo aspirations.
Instattoo for the iPad is being called the world’s first tattoo generation. It can quickly display a number of designs, divided into one of 13 core styles — covering everything from stars, tribal patterns, Asian symbols, hieroglyphs. You know, pretty much any stereotypical tattoo you can think of.
You can pinch and swipe the tattoo to your liking, or if you don’t really care what type of tattoo you want, you can just hit the “random” yin-yang and your next tramp stamp could show up.
While I am poking fun at tattoos, this app is actually a great value for those who would be interested in it. For only $2.99, you can conjure up literally billions of different tattoo ideas. When you find the design you love, save a hi-res image to your photo library and if you have an AirPrint printer, print it off and give it to your tattoo artist. If you don’t have an AirPlay printer, don’t worry — you’re not as cool, but you can email it to yourself and print from a desktop.
Want to show off your design and receive feedback from your friends? Not a problem — you can also easily share on all of your social networks.
The only thing missing from this app is a text-generator. How in the world am I going to design that lovely heart with my mom’s name in it? (Or my wife’s…? She doesn’t read this blog, it’s ok.)
This will certainly be the first of many tattoo-related apps. If you’re a tattoo lover, let me know what you think.
